Lis Reynolds
Creative Counselling and Psychotherapist for Children and Young Adults
Lis is a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
She holds a Level 6 Advanced Specialist Diploma in Young Person Counselling from Canterbury Counselling Training. This specialist training focused on working therapeutically with young people aged 11–25 and included child and adolescent development, mental health, safeguarding, cultural diversity and the use of creative approaches within therapy. Lis also holds a Level 5 Diploma in Neurosomatic Psychotherapy from the NAOS Institute in Ealing, London. This training deepened her understanding of the connection between the mind, body and nervous system and how difficult or traumatic experiences can affect a person both emotionally and physically. Lis is passionate about continuing to learn and regularly undertakes further training to develop her therapeutic knowledge and practice.
Before establishing her own private practice, Therapy with Lis, she worked within the NHS and gained experience learning GDPR, Safeguarding Adult and Children Level 1 and 2, Information Governance, Learning Disability & Autism, Mental Capacity Act, Cultural and Ethnicity Awareness, Prevention training, Disability awareness, including sensory loss as well as the Oliver McGowan mandatory training on Learning Disability and Autism part one and part two. These experiences have shaped her compassionate, inclusive and trauma-informed approach.
Outside of work, she enjoys caring for her home, houseplants, gardening and taking on creative DIY projects. Most of all, she values spending time with her husband and their much-loved dog, Pepper.
