Liz McGown

Chiropractor

Liz McGown - ICF

Liz began her Chiropractic journey at the age of fifteen as a young athlete in Canada and since that time, Chiropractic has always been part of her life, first as a patient and then as a Chiropractor herself. After her first two years of Chiropractic education at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, Liz transferred to Northwestern Health Sciences University (USA) where she graduated as a Doctor of Chiropractic, as well as earning a second Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology.

With health, recreation and physical activity very much a focus in her life, Liz initially undertook degrees in the area of sport graduating with a Bachelor of Physical Education (Honours) degree, a Master in Sport Administration degree, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Education (Psychopedagogy) degree.

Throughout her athletic career, which culminated in competing internationally in two sports for Canada (sprint kayak, luge), and subsequently working within amateur sport in Canada as a professional coach and administrator, Chiropractic was always a presence.

With her extensive background in sport, it was a natural segue for Liz to have an interest in sport related injuries and she continues to work towards a post-graduate professional qualification in sports chiropractic, the Internationally Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner/Physician (ICSSP). In addition, yearly continuing education courses continue to expand her knowledge within Roentgenology (x-ray/MRI/scans), Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT) and craniopathy, as well as other areas of interest to ensure that she can address as many areas of patient care as possible.

After living and working in both Canada and the USA, Liz has now lived in Whitstable since 2006. Her enthusiasm for being part of such a wonderful community has enabled her to work towards providing the highest possible standards of Chiropractic patient care at Evolution Health – Whitstable Chiropractic Clinic.
